Luxury vinyl tiles or ‘LVT’ are a hard-wearing, rigid vinyl available in different formats, i.e. planks or square tiles. There are ones that require being bonded to the sub-floor with a strong adhesive, which are typically good for commercial floors like in offices or surgeries and non-adhere which have either an interlocking click system or can be loose laid due to their special underside layer, which is able to form a strong grip to the sub-floor.
They are also available in different finishes including wood, stone and cement and are suitable for all areas of the home. They have a 100% waterproof surface and can be installed over concrete, tiles, laminate and other flat sub-floor surfaces.
Luxury vinyl tiles are hard-wearing and resistant to stains and scratches and are easily maintained.
However, luxury vinyl tiles can be difficult to remove if glued down, can fade and discolour with excessive UV exposure and are not biodegradable.
